Here is what goes into every Loft & Daughter piece.
Look closer at the metal
Our jewellery is crafted from recycled sterling silver, sourced from a small local refinery. Even the offcuts and filings from our artisans' workbench are gathered up, melted down and used again.
Unless stated otherwise, every piece is built on solid 925 sterling silver, not brass or base metal hidden under a thin coating. Our gold vermeil pieces are finished in 22ct gold over that same sterling silver, at 2.5 microns: a premium, long-lasting standard of gold, without the solid gold price tag.
Our chains are standard sterling silver. Anything made from 100% recycled silver says so on its listing.
Look closer at the mark
Turn a piece over and you'll find the 925 stamp.
Pieces over 7.78g are independently tested and hallmarked at the Edinburgh Assay Office, carrying Edinburgh's three turrets alongside our own L&D sponsor's mark. It's an independent guarantee of the silver you're wearing.
Every piece is made by a small team of silversmiths working with our World Fair Trade Organization certified partner. Led by our head silversmith, Mr Arun, the workshop trains young people, many displaced from flood and drought affected regions, in a craft that gives them a fair, dignified living.
We visit every partner personally, and we make in slow, small batches. Never mass production. When you wear Loft & Daughter, you know exactly whose hands shaped it.

Drawing on ancient symbols and goddess mythology, every design carries a story and an intention, made to remind you of something you need to hear.

Every piece comes with a one-year warranty covering breakage and manufacturing faults, a polishing cloth, and a soft organic cotton pouch, block-printed by a women's cooperative on the outskirts of Jaipur.

Loft & Daughter is a Certified B Corp and a member of 1% for the Planet, and a minimum of 2% of our revenue goes to social and environmental causes.
